BATTERIES

The Battery, the heart of the car
The battery supplies power to start the vehicle and the electrical components when the engine isn't running
Rechargeable power
The battery is recharged by the alternator as you drive, keeping it ready for the next time you start the car
BATTERY TESTING
We use the Exide testers to check battery health
We have found during testing that modern car batteries seem to fail after about 7 years.
If you find it's taking longer to start the car it may be worth getting it checked out, it doesn't take long and the test is free.
The Battery Range
We carry a large range of various types of batteries in stock

Automotive lead-acid
This mainstream type of battery was the standard design of vehicles before the advent of start-start engines with computer controlled alternator technology

Automotive EFB
Designed specifically for stop-start cars and vans, these batteries charge faster and respond better to the extra power demands of a modern vehicle over conventional lead acid type batteries.

Automotive AGM
With lower internal resistance compared to flooded batteries they provide more power, recharge quicker and are more resistant to vibration & temperaure.

Commercial
Batteries designed for commercial, plant and agricultural applications need to be more powerful and robust for their heavy duty requirements.

Leisure
Leisure batteries typically provide power for items not connected to the start battery.

Motorcycle
Used on smaller engines with lower power requirements but no less important they are available in both lead-acid and AGM
BATTERY FITTING & PROGRAMMING
We can fit and code batteries
Battery fitted from £ 14.99 inc vat *
Battery coding (if required) £ 34.20 inc vat
* some vehicles have a increased fitting charge due to the time required to replace. for example, Ford Transit's have their batteries under the drivers seat, and some BMW's have a book time to replace of one hour.
